Boyne Island and Tannum Sands are situated 20 kilometres from Gladstone. Most of the major parks and recreational areas, including Millenium Esplanade, Canoe Point, Bray Park and the Boyne River are situated in this region. Enjoy a stroll along the beaches in the area.
Lake Awoonga Lake Awoonga is located 30 minutes from Gladstone. Facilities include boat ramp, boat hire (including houseboats), walking trails, scenic lookouts, easy parking, children’s playgrounds, picnic and barbecue facilities.

Yaralla Sports Club situated on the corner of Wood and Bell Street, Barney Point is a hop, skip and a jump from Toolooa Gardens Motel and Apartment.  The club provides dining, entertainment, and a fitness centre. Pick from R&B’s Steak Restaurant, Pacino’s Italian Restaurant, Taste of China and the Legend’s Bar Café. A casual membership to the Yaralla Fitness Centre can be purchased, opening hours for the fitness centre are Monday-Friday 5:00am-8:30pm, Saturday 7:00am-4:00pm and Sunday 2:00pm-6:00pm.

Heron Island
